Roksana Kwaśnikowska
An award-winning artist who has excelled in prestigious competitions both in Poland and on international level (e.g. Tibor Varga International Violin Competition in Sion, 1st Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition in Katowice, Beethoven’s International Music Competition – Hradec, Michal Spisak International Music Competition in Dąbrowa Górnicza, International Tadeusz Wronski Solo Violin Competition).
Being a valued soloist, Roksana Kwasnikowska has given a great number of concerts in Europe (France, Estonia, Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Austria), Asia (China, South Korea, Japan) and North America. She was hosted twice in one of the world’s most renowned auditoriums – the Carnegie Hall. As a soloist she made an appearance with e.g. the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR), Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra, Janáček Symphony Orchestra in Ostrava. Performances of the talented violinist were aired by the Polish Radio – Program Drugi Polskiego Radia, Czech Radio Ostrava as well as they were transmitted by the Polish Television on TVP Kultura channel.
Her passion for violin finds its expression not only in solo performances. Roksana Kwaśnikowska actively contributes to chamber music projects. In 2016, together with her ensemble, the Chopin Piano Quintet which she joined in 2013, she released an album with Robert Schumman and Dmitri Shostakovich piano quintets (DUX publishing house). Since 2019 she has been first violinist of Lutoslawski Quartet.
Her artistic achievements brought her three awards of the Mayor of Koszalin as well as the distinction of the „Young Artist of the Year” in 2011. Roksana was granted the scholarships of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as well as of the „Pro Polonia Society” foundation. Additionally, she is a two-time winner of the „Mloda Polska” programme.
Roksana has deveoloped her artistic skills during numerous masterclasses both in Poland and abroad. Her musical development was supervised by prominent violinists such as Jan Stanienda, Stephan Picard and Dora Schwarzberg.
Roksana successfully graduated from under Prof. Jan Stanienda and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. She was awarded with Magna cum Laude medal which is traditionally granted to the graduate who reached the greatest artistic achievements. Currently Roksana works as a lecturer at her alma mater.
