Krzysztof Stanienda

 

Krzysztof STANIENDA was born on 22 February 1986 in Warsaw. He is an extremely talented pianist of young generation; a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in the class of Prof. Edward Wolanin. He is given classes by such outstanding pianists as Vera Nosina, Martin Hughes, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, Andrzej Jasiński, Stefan Kutrzeba, Lee Kum-Sing, Krystyna Makowska-Ławrynowicz, Maja Nosowska, and Jerzy Marchwiński.

He is a prize-winner of both national and foreign competitions. In 2007, he won a Special Award at the International Competition in Łódź, while in 2009, he became a finalist of the International Com­petition in Lugano (Switzerland). In 2008, he was nominated to the Fryderyk Award for a chamber music album. One year later, he recorded for the Universal Music Poland together with Kama Grott and Artur Kasperek.

Krzysztof Stanienda is a co-founder of the Chopin Piano Quintet ensemble, with which he became a laureate of the International Piano and Chamber Ensembles Competition in Vilnius in April 2014. Two months later, he received another honours with the ensemble in Italy, where he won the 1st prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Pianello Val Tidone, as well as the 1st prize at the 12th International Competition “Premio Citta di Padova” in Padua.

He has performed at a number of festivals in Poland, e.g., the Music Festival in Łańcut, the Easter Ludwig van Beethoven Festival in Kraków, the Evenings at the Arsenal in Wrocław, the Polish Talent Week in Kąśna Dolna, as well as abroad: in Japan, the Great Britain, Austria, the Netherlands, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, and Italy.

The pianist has given concerts together with the Sinfonia Varsovia, the Chopin Academia Orches­tra, the Wratislavia Orchestra, the Spirit of Europe Orchestra, the Silesian Chamber Orchestra, the Sile­sian Quartet, the Camerata Quartet, among others, as well as with excellent instrumentalists, e.g., Lidia Grzanka-Urbaniak, Bartosz Bryła, Stefan Kamasa, Piotr Reichert, Jan Stanienda, Leszek Brodowski, Kama Grott, Marcin Zdunik, Anna-Maria Staśkiewicz, Marta Kowalczyk, and Magdalena Bojanowicz.

Krzysztof Stanienda is this year laureate of the scholarship programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage “Young Poland.”

He works at the music workshops in Kołobrzeg, Żagań, Janowiec, and Nałęczów as a pianist-coach. Since 2012, he has been a lecturer at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
