Magdalena Bojanowicz-Koziak

 

Magdalena Bojanowicz received the „Polityka” magazine award (Paszporty Polityki)) for “..courage, risk and consequence. (…) For the concert creations, stimulating our imagination and the power of convincing… ” She won first prize at International Jeunesses Musical Competition in Belgrade (2015), 2nd prize and 2 special prizes – for the best performance W. Lutosławski works – at VIII. W. Lutosławski International Competition in Warsaw (2011). She got also 3rd prize at I Krzysztof Pendercecki International Cello Competition Cracow 2008, 2nd prize at 69. International Ludwig van Beethoven Cello Competition in Hradec (Czech Republic), Award at 64. International Cello Competition “Prague Spring”, 2nd prize at International Piano Duo Competition in Warsaw and 1st prize at International Piano Duo Competition in Częstochowa. She was finalist of Cello Competition New Music Domnick- Cello- Prize in Stuttgart. (2014).

Magdalena Bojanowicz perfected her skills on noumerous courses with great cello artists like: J. Berger, D. Geringas, J. P. Maintz, K. Michalik, Ph. Muller, A. Noras, C. Reichardt or V. Yagling. She received scholarships from the National Children Fund and Minister of Culture and Arts. From 2016 she is artist supported by Thomastik Infeld Vienna. In 2009 she was awarded to the prestigious scholarship

„Young Poland” which received for a recording of contemporary music in duo with M. Frąckiewicz.

She performed as a soloist with many great conductors like: M. Caldi, G. Tchitchinadze, D. Smith, V. Schmidt-Gertenbach, R. Rivolta, M. Moś, M. Klauza, T. Wojciechowski, J. Kosek, M. Nesterowicz, P. Przytocki, W. Rodek, B. Lack, E. Kovacic, José Maria Florêncio. She took part in many well known festivals in Poland and abroud like: „Music Connects” Grand Resort Bad Ragaz in Switzerland, „Gulangyu Festival” in Xiamen (China), „Festival au Leman” in Thonon les Bains (France), „Polish Music Festival” in Moscow, International Music Festival „Warsaw Autumn”, „Music on the heights” in Zakopane, Festival „Musica moderna” in Łódź, „Musica Polonica Nova” in Wrocław,„Bronislaw Hubermann Violin Festival” in Częstochowa.

She performed in Tonhalle Zürich, Royal Festival Hall in London, Kolarac in Belgrade, Concerts and Recordings Studios of Polish Radio in Warsaw, Warsaw Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic. Magdalena Bojanowicz as a soloist cooperated with NOSPR, NFM Leopoldinum, Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic, Sinfonietta Cracovia, AUKSO, Polish Orchester Sinfonia Iuventus, Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra.

In 2013 she graduated master with honors from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, in the cello class of Andrzej Bauer and Bartosz Koziak. She also finished Solo Master in Universitat der Kunste in Berlin with Jens Peter Maintz.

She has made numerous premieres of cello concertos written for her: Dariusz Przybylski „Cello Concerto” 2012 (performed with NOSPR and released by the DUX Record Company), Aleksander Nowak „Half-full Journal”for cello, percussion and strings (2013) with AUKSO and NFM Leopoldinum. In this year is planned premiere of „Double Cello Concerto” by Hanna Kulenty with Lviv Symphony Orchester. In the upcoming season she is waiting to premiere Paweł Szymański „Cello concerto”.

She is a member of „Cellonet” group under the direction of A. Bauer.
