Magdalena Lech 

 

Magdalena Lech was born in 1993 in Warsaw. She graduated of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the violin class of prof. Jan Stanienda. In the season 2016/2017, as part of the Erasmus Plus scholarship program, she studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London in the class of prof. Krzysztof Śmietana. She improved her violins skills at master classes of prof. Magdalena Szczepanowska, Michał Grabarczyk, Fulvio Leofreddi, Daniel Stabrawa and chamber music with prof. Marek Czech, Izabela Szałaj-Zimak, Pekka Helasvuo, Maja Nosowska, Corina Balceai and Even Rothstein. In 2019/2020, she participated in the 8th edition of the Sinfonia Varsovia Academy, a project that allows you to work with orchestral leaders and participate in Sinfonia Varsovia concerts.

Since 2017, she has been permanently associated with the Polish Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus named Jerzy Semkow. Currently she is the concertmaster there. In addition, she is the leader of the 2nd violin section in the Chopin Chamber Orchestra at the UMFC in Warsaw. Other orchestral projects in which she willingly engages include: I Culture Orchestra and Santander Orchestra.

Magdalena Lech is a laureate of the International Chamber Music Competition in Vilnius, the International Chamber Music Competition in Pianello Val Tidone, the “Premio Citta’di Padova” Competition, the International Competition for Chamber Ensembles “Anton Garcia Abril” in Spain and a finalist of the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria. In 2016 she received the scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage “Young Poland”. Thanks to which, together with the Chopin Piano Quintet, she recorded a DVD (released by DUX) with piano quintets written by Robert Schumann and Dmitri Szostakowicz.
